Back in 2009, Cindy had a lightbulb moment: “What if we could make new homeowners feel like VIPs and uplift local businesses at the same time?” Boom – Celebrate Our Town was born! Since then, Cindy’s been on a mission to build thriving, connected communities, one welcome basket (and a whole lot of smiles) at a time.

In 2017, she teamed up with her partner-in-good-vibes, Karen Johnson, to create The Good News Girls – a powerhouse duo spreading positivity, uncovering hidden gems, and giving SE Wisconsin the spotlight it deserves.

Karen’s mother, Greta Hansen, was the founder of The Shalom Center, where she dedicated herself to caring for individuals experiencing homelessness and building support within the community. That legacy of compassion, service, and giving back has had a lasting impact on Karen, whose heart for people and community is every bit as big.
